We're working with a nationally recognized engineering consultancy looking to add a Structural Bridge Engineer to its growing Connecticut team. If you're a licensed Professional Engineer with experience in bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, and transportation structures, this is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while continuing to develop your leadership skills in a collaborative environment.
You'll join a highly respected bridge engineering team delivering projects that improve how communities connect, travel, and grow. What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the structural design and delivery of bridge engineering projects from concept through final design.
- Design new bridges and rehabilitation solutions for existing transportation structures.
- Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and prepare construction documents.
- Complete bridge load rating analysis using AASHTOWare BrR.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary transportation teams throughout project delivery.
- Review shop drawings, engineering calculations, and technical submissions.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and resolve construction issues.
- Respond to RFIs and provide technical support during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality management.
- Build strong relationships with clients and help ensure successful project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut.
- 5+ years of experience in bridge engineering or transportation structures.
- Strong background in bridge design, rehabilitation, and structural analysis.
- Experience with:
- STAAD
- SAP2000
- CSI software
- AASHTOWare BrR
- AutoCAD
- OpenBridge Modeler
- Knowledge of:
- AASHTO
- AISC
- ASCE
- ACI
- CTDOT Digital Design Environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
