Design Engineer – Civil Engineering (Land Development)

We are seeking a motivated Design Engineer to join our Pottstown, PA office. This role is ideal for an 2+ year civil engineer looking to build technical expertise while contributing to a variety of exciting land development projects. You'll work alongside experienced project managers and senior designers in a collaborative environment that encourages learning, innovation, and professional growth.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the design of residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and institutional land development projects throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
  • Prepare and develop sketch plans, site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, roadway profiles, and supporting construction documents.
  • Apply engineering principles to stormwater management, erosion and sediment control (E&S), and utility design.
  • Research and interpret zoning ordinances, subdivision and land development regulations, stormwater requirements, and other agency standards to ensure project compliance.
  • Prepare subdivision and land development plan sets, reports, permit applications, and technical submissions.
  • Independently manage smaller design assignments while supporting senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design staff to coordinate project schedules, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate progress, timelines, and potential design challenges.
  • Contribute ideas and technical solutions that help drive successful project outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in private land development or subdivision design.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Experience with Hydroflow stormwater software is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of grading, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion & sediment control design.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative engineering team.
