Civil Engineering Team Lead
Location: Parsippany or Freehold, NJ
Salary: $170,000–$200,000
An established engineering and consulting firm is looking for a Civil Engineering Team Lead to join its New Jersey team.
This is a leadership role overseeing civil engineering and land development projects while managing and developing an engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for project delivery, technical oversight, client relationships, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams through the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects.
- Oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project staff, including managing workloads and performance.
- Work closely with clients, project managers, municipalities, and other disciplines.
- Manage client relationships, proposals, contracts, change orders, and project meetings.
- Provide technical guidance and review designs, plans, and engineering work.
- Identify new business opportunities and help maintain and grow existing client relationships.
- Support office operations, team development, and overall project profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of civil engineering or land development experience.
- At least 5 years managing multiple large-scale land development projects, including commercial, residential, or municipal work.
- Strong knowledge of local land development processes, municipal codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
- Previous experience leading and developing engineering teams.
- Strong technical, project management, client-facing, and business development skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
