Overview
An established civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large, complex land development/site design projects from early planning through approvals and delivery. This position combines technical leadership, client relationship management, financial accountability, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct project execution for major site development efforts, including scope planning, schedules, staffing, and coordination across disciplines.
- Maintain accountability for project financials: fee development, contracts, invoicing, change management, forecasting, and profitability.
- Serve as a senior client partner—build trust, manage expectations, and support long-term account growth.
- Guide entitlement/permitting strategy and manage agency coordination to drive timely site plan approvals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and technical staff; establish standards and reinforce quality delivery.
- Support business development through pursuit strategy, client outreach, proposal support, and relationship expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in land development/site civil design.
- 7+ years of experience leading teams (people management, coaching, performance oversight).
- Strong technical background in grading, drainage/stormwater, utilities, zoning/entitlements, and permitting.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to external stakeholders.
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
