An established structural engineering consultancy in New York City is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Façade & Garage Restoration to join its growing restoration practice.
The firm has a long-standing presence in the New York market and provides structural engineering, building envelope, restoration, and rehabilitation services across a diverse portfolio of existing buildings. Projects include façade restoration, parking garage rehabilitation, structural repairs, building envelope investigations, and FISP/Local Law 11 programs throughout the NYC metropolitan area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced restoration engineer who wants to take ownership of projects, manage client relationships, and continue progressing toward a senior leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Manage façade, parking garage, and structural restoration projects from investigation through design and construction administration.
- Perform field investigations, condition assessments, surveys, and structural evaluations of existing buildings.
- Manage FISP / Local Law 11 façade inspection and repair programs.
- Develop repair and rehabilitation solutions for concrete, masonry, steel, façades, waterproofing systems, and parking structures.
- Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, repair details, and construction documents.
- Oversee construction administration, including site visits, RFIs, submittals, contractor coordination, and progress inspections.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Coordinate directly with building owners, property managers, architects, contractors, and other consultants.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and project staff.
- Support proposals, fee development, client presentations, and continued growth of the restoration practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- 8–15 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally within the New York City market.
- Strong experience with façade restoration, parking garage rehabilitation, structural repair, or building envelope projects.
- Experience with NYC FISP / Local Law 11 projects strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of NYC Building Code and applicable restoration and inspection requirements.
- Experience managing projects, clients, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- New York PE license preferred, or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience performing hands-on field investigations and construction-phase services.
