An established structural engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to join its growing Miami office.
The firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering structural engineering services across a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, hospitality, institutional, mixed-use, and high-rise projects. This opportunity is well suited to an engineer looking to take greater ownership of projects, client relationships, and technical delivery while continuing to progress toward senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage structural engineering projects from concept and design development through construction administration.
- Lead the analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and other structural systems.
- Work on a variety of building projects, including mid-rise and high-rise structures throughout South Florida.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate structural design with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
- Attend client meetings and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other construction-phase documentation.
- Perform site visits and provide engineering support during construction.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Support proposals, client development, and continued growth of the Miami structural practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
- Approximately 6–10+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably focused on building structures.
- Strong experience with the design of concrete and steel building systems.
- Experience managing structural projects and coordinating directly with architects and clients.
- Knowledge of Florida Building Code and applicable structural design standards.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software commonly used within the buildings industry.
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, with Florida licensure or the ability to obtain it considered a significant advantage.
