We are partnered with a growing multidisciplinary consulting firm in the Manassas area that is looking to add a Senior Building Enclosure Engineer to support the continued growth of its building envelope and restoration practice.
This is an opportunity to join an established team working on a diverse range of projects involving roofing systems, waterproofing, façade assessments, exterior wall systems, condition assessments, and rehabilitation projects across commercial, institutional, government, education, and mixed-use facilities.
The position offers significant client exposure, project ownership, and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued expansion of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead building enclosure investigations and condition assessments.
- Evaluate roofing, waterproofing, façade, and exterior wall systems.
- Prepare technical reports, repair recommendations, and construction documents.
- Perform field investigations and site observations.
- Support litigation, forensic investigations, and failure analysis efforts when required.
- Manage projects from proposal through closeout.
- Coordinate directly with owners, architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support business development efforts and maintain client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE License required.
- 5+ years of experience within building enclosure, roofing, waterproofing, restoration, or façade consulting.
- Experience preparing technical reports and repair documents.
- Strong understanding of roofing assemblies, waterproofing systems, air barriers, and exterior wall systems.
- Experience with field investigations and construction administration activities.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
