Senior Civil Engineer / Team Leader – Municipal Engineering
Location: White Plains, NY
Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year depending on experience
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer / Team Leader to join an established engineering consultancy in White Plains, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer or project manager with 15+ years of experience in municipal engineering or public infrastructure who is ready to take on a leadership role and make a lasting impact across Westchester County.
You’ll lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, and utility systems, while mentoring engineering staff and developing strong relationships with municipal and state clients.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of multidisciplinary municipal and public infrastructure projects.
- Manage and mentor engineers, designers, and technical staff, supporting their professional development and performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal and state clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, resources, and overall delivery.
- Review engineering designs and provide quality assurance and quality control oversight.
- Support business development activities, including identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and strengthen client relationships.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in municipal engineering, public infrastructure, or a related civil engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence in New York
- Proven experience managing engineering projects, leading teams, and developing client relationships.
- Strong technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, including stormwater, utilities, water, and wastewater systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and familiarity with local design standards and regulations.
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
