This position offers the chance to take ownership of preconstruction and estimating across a range of commercial construction projects. The Senior Estimator will prepare detailed cost analyses, lead competitive bids, and support design and construction teams with accurate budgets and takeoffs. This role involves close collaboration with project owners, engineers, and other key stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work.

Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and cost factors.

Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for structural, civil, and interior scopes.

Perform material and quantity takeoffs from design documents.

Lead bid preparation and manage subcontractor solicitation and evaluation.

Negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.

Maintain and update cost databases and recommend pricing adjustments.

Create preliminary project schedules and coordinate preconstruction activities.

Support project managers with cost tracking, value engineering, and budget updates.

Use industry software such as On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift, Bluebeam, and MS Project to prepare and manage estimates.

Prepare reports, maintain organized estimate files, and ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

5–7 years of commercial construction estimating experience, including preconstruction and cost planning.

Strong knowledge of conceptual estimating and the ability to prepare budgets from limited information.

Proficiency in cost estimating tools such as OST, Planswift, Bluebeam, ProEst, and Building Connected.

Skilled in Microsoft Office and construction scheduling software.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams.
