Seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Designer with a strong background in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial and institutional building projects. The role requires at least five years of hands-on experience in mechanical systems design, including layout, equipment selection, and coordination with project teams. Familiarity with mechanical codes, standards, and regulations is essential. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required, and candidates should have or be pursuing PE registration.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive project assignments and design requirements and develop detailed mechanical system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and equipment layouts
• Lead projects through design and construction phases, interfacing directly with clients and end users to document expectations
• Produce 3D Revit and 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical systems design and construction documentation
• Perform calculations, specifications, equipment selection, and construction administration as necessary
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines and ensure compliance with codes and industry standards
• Conduct site observations to verify mechanical system installations
Qualifications
• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design for commercial or institutional buildings
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
• High attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional demeanor, teamwork skills, and positive attitude
• PE registration or active pursuit of PE licensure
