I’m working with an established structural engineering consultancy looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer, PE to its growing building structures team.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who wants to remain heavily involved in technical building design, while taking on greater responsibility for project delivery and the management of a small engineering team.
The firm works on a diverse portfolio of building projects, with particular strength in mid-rise and high-rise construction, multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality and commercial developments. The successful engineer will have significant experience designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete structures and will be comfortable leading projects from concept through construction.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will take responsibility for the structural design and delivery of complex building projects while providing technical direction to junior and project-level engineers.
You’ll be involved in:
- Leading the structural design of mid-rise and high-rise building projects
- Designing cast-in-place reinforced concrete framing systems, foundations and associated structural elements
- Performing and reviewing structural analysis, calculations and engineering documentation
- Managing multiple projects through design and construction phases
- Leading and mentoring a small team of structural engineers
- Reviewing calculations, drawings and technical deliverables produced by junior engineers
- Coordinating directly with architects, contractors, developers and other engineering disciplines
- Providing technical input during construction, including RFIs, submittals and field-related design issues
- Supporting project planning, schedules, budgets and overall delivery
- Contributing to the continued development of the firm's structural engineering team
What They’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong building design experience within a structural engineering consultancy
- Significant experience with cast-in-place reinforced concrete design
- Experience working on mid-rise and/or high-rise buildings
- Previous experience leading projects and managing or mentoring small engineering teams
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, building codes and construction documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with architects, contractors, clients and internal engineering teams

Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 base, depending on experience.
