We’re working with a leading multidisciplinary consulting firm to hire a VDC Engineer / BIM Specialist for their growing New York City office.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing Virtual Design & Construction team delivering complex infrastructure and building projects using cutting-edge technology. You’ll play a key role in driving BIM strategy, coordination, and model delivery across major public and private sector projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models across architectural, structural, MEP, and civil/site disciplines
- Lead model setup, coordination, and management throughout the full project lifecycle
- Perform clash detection and lead 3D coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partners
- Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure model accuracy and compliance with project standards
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams
- Support reality capture workflows including LiDAR scanning, point cloud processing, and Scan-to-BIM
- Produce visualizations, renderings, and 4D simulations to support project delivery
- Review contract documents, drawings, and scopes to ensure alignment with BIM deliverables
- Assist with proposals, client presentations, and technical documentation
- Support site visits, field verification, and troubleshooting of BIM/VDC tools and workflows
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC within the AEC industry
- Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Experience leading coordination and managing BIM deliverables on complex projects
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
Nice to Have
- Experience on public sector or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with Bentley tools (MicroStation, OpenBuildings, OpenRoads)
- Experience with LiDAR scanning and point cloud workflows
- Exposure to Dynamo, Python, or Revit API development
- Understanding of construction means and methods
