The Role

This Structural Design Engineer position is ideal for someone looking to step up—taking on more responsibility in design, project delivery, and client exposure.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers while contributing directly to the analysis, design, and delivery of a wide range of building projects across NYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of building systems (steel, concrete, foundations, connections)
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and technical documentation
  • Develop design solutions alongside senior engineers across multiple project phases
  • Produce and coordinate structural drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and condition assessments
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support project schedules, permitting, and code compliance
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews to maintain design quality and integrity
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

What They’re Looking For

  • 2–6 years of structural engineering experience (buildings-focused)
  • EIT required; PE license (or actively working towards it)
  • Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience with software such as ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit
  • Strong understanding of structural systems, materials, and building codes
  • Clear communicator with solid technical writing skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team
