Location: North Bethesda, Maryland (Hybrid – in-office + remote)
Salary Range: $98,000 – $120,000

Your Role

As a Structural Project Engineer, you will perform structural analysis, design, and documentation for a range of building projects while supporting Project Managers and mentoring junior staff.

You will:

  • Perform structural analysis and calculations for steel, reinforced concrete, and building systems

  • Prepare and coordinate construction drawings and structural documentation

  • Research and apply relevant codes including ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 341, and NDS

  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and BIM staff

  • Support construction administration including RFIs, submittals, and site visits

  • Contribute to and coordinate BIM workflows

  • Provide guidance to Assistant Engineers and Technicians

  • Assist in managing small to mid-sized projects under supervision

  • Attend project coordination meetings and support client communication

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

  • 3–6 years of structural design experience

  • PE license preferred (Virginia preferred)

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • ETABS, RISA 3D, SAP, RAM

    • BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Office 365

  • Experience with building design, retrofits, equipment anchorage, wind design, and utilities bracing

  • Working knowledge of timber, masonry, cold-formed steel, seismic design, and finite element modeling

  • Experience preparing construction drawings and specifications

  • Strong communication and coordination skills
